boAt AIRDOPS 800 Dolby SPATIAL Audio: I bought it on 26 March 2026; it was launched way back in May 2024. The airdops are equipped with 10mm titanium drivers, ENC-support microphones, multipoint connectivity, IPX5 splash and sweat resistance, and boAt claimed to offer a total battery life of 40 hours.
The Boat application is available for both Android and iOS smartphones, which helps users to customize touch controls and the equaliser.
Nowadays, earbuds have become an essential part of everyday life, whether it’s for online meetings, during travel, calls, or workouts. The boAt Airdopes 800 Dolby Audio delivers a really good sound and is stylish at an affordable price.

The package includes one pair of boAt Airdopes, a Type-C charging cable, a user guide, and two additional pairs of ear tips for a more customized and comfortable fit.
From the moment I opened the package, I was impressed. The matte green case instantly gives off a premium feel, even though the box itself is slightly on the larger side. The AirDopes fit comfortably in the ears without causing any pressure, making them ideal for long listening sessions.
What truly stands out in boAt Airdopes 800 is the In-Ear Detection feature. The moment you remove an earbud, your music or movie pauses automatically, and it seamlessly resumes playback as soon as you place it back in your ear. This makes it especially convenient when watching movies on a tablet or listening to music on the go.
Another standout feature is its multi-device connectivity, which adds a layer of everyday convenience. The boAt Airdopes 800 can stay connected to two devices at the same time, allowing you to switch seamlessly between them without the need to disconnect and reconnect. For instance, you can be watching a movie on your tablet and instantly take a call from your smartphone without any interruption. This smooth transition makes it especially useful for multitasking, whether you’re working, streaming, or simply managing multiple devices throughout the day. This adds a premium and rich experience.
In my usage, I wore them for up to two hours at a stretch, and they remained light and comfortable throughout. Each earbud weighs around 4.5 grams, which helps ensure a snug fit without causing fatigue, even during extended listening sessions, and the total weight with the case is 45 grams.
The sound quality of these Airdopes is a true highlight. With Dolby Audio support, the overall listening experience is significantly enhanced, whether you’re enjoying music or watching movies on a tablet. It delivers a richer, more immersive sound with better clarity and depth, making every moment more engaging.
It comes with two distinct sound modes: Signature Sound and Dolby Audio. The Dolby Audio Movie Mode creates a more immersive, surround sound-like experience, similar to what you’d expect in a theater or auditorium, and Natural Mode, making it ideal for watching movies.
I feel Dolby Natural Mode provides a better sound with a little bit of the equalizer tweaks.
On the other hand, Signature Sound is better tuned for music, movies and online meetings, offering a balanced and enjoyable listening experience for everyday use.
Beast Mode: It is good when you’re playing games, as it lowers latency to 50ms.
boAt Hearables is available in both iOS and Android

The companion app for the Airdopes 800 adds a great level of control and customization to the overall experience. It allows you to enable features like multipoint connectivity and in-ear detection, check for software updates, and even run smart diagnostics to quickly fix issues. You can also personalize touch controls for each earbud, making everyday usage more intuitive. On the audio side, the app offers Dolby Audio modes along with a customizable equalizer and adaptive EQ, letting you fine-tune the sound exactly to your preference for music or movies.

After using the Airdopes for around two and a half hours in Signature mode, the battery dropped to about 80%. During this time, I attended an online meeting that lasted approximately one hour and thirty-seven minutes. After the meeting, I spent about another hour preparing notes for my upcoming classes while listening to songs on YouTube.
At around 10 PM, I went for a one-hour cycle ride while listening to music on Spotify using Dolby Audio’s Natural mode. Compared to Signature mode, Dolby mode does consume slightly more battery. I had the boAt Airdopes 800 connected to my Xiaomi 15, and at that time, the charging case was at around 80%. By the next morning, the battery level had dropped to approximately 66%.
After about three and a half hours of usage, the case battery dropped from 98% to 66%, which was quite disappointing. While boAt claims the Airdopes 800 can deliver up to 40 hours of total playback, my real-world experience suggests otherwise. Based on this usage, the earbuds seem to last around 6–7 hours at best, which falls significantly short of the advertised figure.
The boAt Airdopes 800 strikes a strong balance between features and affordability, making it a compelling option in the budget earbuds segment. Its standout strengths lie in sound quality and features—Dolby Audio adds a noticeable depth and immersion, especially for movies, while Signature mode keeps things balanced for everyday music and calls. Features like in-ear detection, multipoint connectivity, and app-based customization further enhance the overall user experience, giving it a premium touch at its price point.
Comfort is another area where the Airdopes 800 performs well. The lightweight design and snug fit make them suitable for long listening sessions without causing discomfort. The companion app also deserves praise for offering useful controls like EQ tuning, touch customization, and diagnostics, which are often missing in this price range.
However, battery performance is where the Airdopes 800 falls short. Despite boAt’s claim of up to 40 hours of playback, real-world usage tells a different story. The battery drain, especially with Dolby Audio enabled, is noticeably higher, and the overall backup feels closer to 6–7 hours in practical scenarios, which may disappoint some users.
Overall, if your priority is sound quality, features, and comfort on a budget, the boAt Airdopes 800 is a solid choice. But if long battery life is a key deciding factor for you, this might not fully meet your expectations.
